Santo Domingo.– The former Attorney General of the Republic, Jean Alain Rodríguez, stated this Friday that he has been a victim of alleged abuses within the judicial process he is facing for supposed acts of administrative corruption and maintained that the fight against that crime must be carried out with strict adherence to the rule of law.
Through an extensive document sent to the media, Rodríguez expressed that the irregularities he denounces are part of his own experience during the process and asserted that such practices should have no place in a justice system that guarantees respect for fundamental rights.
The former official reiterated that the fight against corruption is necessary, but considered that it must be carried out while respecting due process, constitutional guarantees, and the rules that govern the judicial system.

Jean Alain Rodríguez is facing legal proceedings for alleged administrative corruption related to his tenure as Attorney General of the Republic between 2016 and 2020. According to the Public Prosecutor’s Office indictment, he allegedly led a scheme that diverted more than RD$6 billion through operations considered fraudulent.
The judicial process continues in the courts, while the authorities maintain the accusations against him and the defense insists that procedural rights and guarantees have been violated during the case.
