Signal.- North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, vowed to «unconditionally» support all decisions and policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a letter sent to the leader and published this Friday by the North Korean state news agency, KCNA.
“I will unconditionally respect and support all your policies and decisions, and I am willing to always be on your side for your and your Russia’s sake. This decision will be constant and permanent,” expressed Kim in the letter.
The North Korean leader also highlighted the “pride” he feels in his friendship with Putin, referring to it as his most “valuable” relationship.
The letter, sent the day before, responded to a message of “congratulations” from the Russian leader, which according to the South Korean news agency Yonhap may have been sent on the occasion of Kim’s birthday on January 8th.
Russia and North Korea signed a strategic partnership treaty in June 2024, and shortly after, South Korean intelligence began to warn of the deployment of North Korean soldiers to support the invasión rusa de Ucrania.
According to South Korean intelligence, Pyongyang has deployed around 15,000 soldiers in support of Russia. In return, Kim Jong-un’s regime has received currency, goods, and technology from Moscow.
