La Romana authorities oversee flood zones and vulnerable locations

La Romana. – With the commitment to safeguard the health, safety, and well-being of the citizenry, the Provincial Health Directorate, the Provincial Government, and Civil Defense conducted an extensive supervision and monitoring tour in different sectors of this province affected by the recent rains. The communities visited included the Quisqueya sectors, Barrio Obrero, Mutualista, Buena Vista, Kilometer 10 of the municipal district of Cumayasa, the Municipality of Villa Hermosa and R. Paulino street, popularly known as Los Síndicos street. The day was led by the provincial director of Health, Dr. Carmen Jiménez; the provincial governor, licensed Ivelisse Mercedes Méndez; and the provincial director of Civil Defense, Rafael Vicioso. The officials pointed out that these actions are part of the preventive measures put in place to guarantee the tranquility and protection of the communities, within the framework of the yellow alert issued by the authorities.
