LIDAAPI announces new chief executive officer

The Dominican League of Savings and Loan Associations (LIDAAPI) announced the appointment of lawyer Ena Ortega Lajara as the new executive president of the institution, as a result of the succession process carried out by its Board of Directors to ensure the continuity of institutional strengthening.

The appointment comes at the conclusion of the tenure of economist Manuel A. Cocco, who during his years at the helm of LIDAAPI played a decisive role in the strengthening and governance of the entity, promoting dialogue, cooperation among member associations, and the representation of the sector’s interests.

For her part, the new president, Ortega Lajara, has more than 20 years of professional experience, with expertise in the legal, financial, and institutional fields, as well as in senior management positions in both the public and private sectors.

She is a lawyer who graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM), where she also completed a postgraduate degree in Economics, and a Master’s degree in Business Law from Pompeu Fabra University, in Barcelona.

Her training, which is complemented by executive programs in senior management and corporate governance, will continue to strengthen LIDAAPI’s representation and its contribution to the development of the Dominican system of savings and loan associations. Gustavo Ariza, president of the LIDAAPI Board of Directors, recognized the career and leadership of Manuel A. Cocco, thanking him for his years of dedication and valuable contributions to the institution. Likewise, he welcomed the new executive president, wishing her success in this new responsibility
