Liranyi Alonso wins gold in the women’s 100 meters

Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Liranyi Alonso was proclaimed champion of the women’s 100 meters at the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, by winning first place in the final and giving the Dominican Republic a new gold medal.

Alonso delivered an outstanding performance on the track at the Félix Sánchez Olympic Stadium, where she prevailed over the other competitors to reach the top of the podium and have the Dominican national anthem played.

With this victory, the sprinter becomes one of the protagonists of the day for the Dominican delegation, which continues to add medals in the regional event being held in Santo Domingo.
