Santiago.- The National Police reported this Wednesday the location in good health of two minors who had been reported missing in separate incidents in different sectors of the province of Santiago, which generated concern among their families and the community.

In the first case, a 16-year-old teenager, residing in the municipality of Villa González, had been reported missing by her mother after leaving her home on January 9th without providing information about her whereabouts.

According to the police report, the minor voluntarily returned home after learning that her disappearance had been reported and disseminated through social media.

As the young woman explained to the authorities, her absence was due to family conflicts, ruling out any risk situation during the time she was away from her residence. In a second incident, a 12-year-old boy was reported missing on January 11, after leaving his home without notifying his family. After the search efforts, police officers managed to locate the minor at a friend’s house, in the Savica sector, where he was in normal physical condition. The teenager stated that he decided to leave after a family argument and was later returned safe and sound to his mother, under the supervision of the authorities.

The National Police reiterated its commitment to act promptly on reports of disappearance, while urging families to strengthen communication with children and adolescents as a preventive measure to avoid similar situations.
