Brazil.- The Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, and Senator Flávio Bolsonaro will compete for the Presidency in a second electoral round on October 25, according to the official results of the elections held this Sunday, with 96.60% of the census counted.
The firstborn of the far-right former president Jair Bolsonaro, with 47.45% of the votes, and the progressive leader, with 44.66%, were the two most voted in a first round with no options for the other ten candidates for the head of state, according to data from the Superior Electoral Court (TSE).

Flávio Bolsonaro, 45, was ahead of Lula from the start of the count, who is performing worse than in the first round of 2022, when he reached 48.4% and 57.2 million votes.
To win the election in the first round, the candidate with the most votes needed to obtain more than 50% of the valid votes. Since neither of the two main contenders reached that percentage, Bolsonaro and Lula will face each other in a runoff on October 25, 2026.
