Bonao, Monseñor Nouel.– Members of the Regional Criminal Investigation Sub-directorate (Dicrim) of the National Police arrested a 26-year-old man this Saturday, identified as the alleged perpetrator of several thefts committed against scooters parked in different sectors of the municipality of Bonao.
The detainee was identified as Tomás Ramón García Martes, a resident of the Juma Adentro community, belonging to the El Pino municipal district.
According to the authorities, the arrest was possible following an investigation process supported by several videos shared on social media, in which the accused is allegedly seen extracting wallets, cash, and other valuables from inside scooter-type motorcycles that were parked.
The Police explained that García Martes remains in custody while investigations continue to determine if he is linked to other similar events that occurred in the area.
Likewise, he indicated that in the coming hours he will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal procedure.
The law enforcement institution reaffirmed its commitment to combating crime and called on the population to continue collaborating with the authorities through the timely reporting of any incident that affects citizen security.
