Merengue singer “La Gayarda” arrested, accused of allegedly committing fraud in vehicle sale

Santo Domingo.- Authorities in this demarcation arrested a merengue singer by means of arrest warrant number 973-2025-EMES-08726, signed by Judge Máximo Roa, who was wanted for investigation for alleged fraud related to vehicle sales. This is the named Fabio Carmona, known in the music world as “La Gayarda“, who was taken into custody for investigation purposes. According to documents filed with the court, the detainee maintained under promises to deliver a vehicle that the victim purchased as a purchase, for the sum of RD$1,560,000.00 pesos, but as expressed by the Victim and as reflected in the documents, he has only maintained in promises and did not deliver the vehicle, much less the return of the money he received for the sale.

According to sources close to this media outlet, the apprehended person will be brought to justice in the coming hours, who will also be investigated for alleged violation of law 631-16, which regulates the carrying and possession of firearms. The authorities called for anyone who has been a victim of this type of scam by the same person to formalize their complaint with the prosecutor’s office of Santo Domingo Este.
