Santiago.- National Police agents arrested a woman identified as the alleged person responsible for the theft of more than RD$1.1 million in cash, money that was reportedly stolen from inside a vehicle parked in front of a commercial establishment in the La Placita sector of this city.
The detainee was identified as Danyerin Silverio Méndez, 34 years old, known by the aliases “Carolina” and “Marola,” who was wanted under judicial order No. 2026-AJ0056174. The arrest was carried out by members of the Property Crimes Investigation Unit, attached to the El Ejido police station.
According to investigations, Silverio Méndez allegedly took advantage of the vehicle owner unloading merchandise to allegedly steal a plastic bag containing RD$1,110,000 in cash, in an incident that occurred on June 30th.
The authorities indicated that the case was solved following the inquiries carried out by investigators, who managed to identify and locate the alleged suspect to execute the arrest warrant.
The National Police reported that the detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which will continue the corresponding judicial process for the alleged millionaire robbery.
