San Francisco de Macorís. – The mayor of San Francisco de Macorís, Alex Díaz, reported that the City Council reached an agreement with the owners of the electric scooters operating in the municipality, with the purpose of regulating their use and reinforcing citizen security. The municipal executive explained that, as part of the agreed measures, only adults will be able to rent and use electric scooters, with their rental strictly prohibited to minors, due to the risks that this practice represents, especially for children and adolescents. Díaz pointed out that the decision arises after evaluating situations that put the physical integrity of users and passers-by at risk, reaffirming the commitment of the City Hall with the prevention of accidents and order in public spaces.
