Mayor Nelson Núñez announces the “Samaná National Music Festival 2026”

Samaná – From the impressive Samaná Bay and its charming Malecón, the celebration of the Samaná 2026 National Music Festival is officially announced, the first event of this nature to be held in this tourist destination. In this scenario, merengue, bachata, salsa, and urban fusions will be the protagonists for six days of free concerts aimed at the whole family, with the support of President Luis Abinader, Mayor Nelson Núñez, the Sala Capitular, Cervecería Nacional Dominicana, Fedomu, Banreservas, Ministry of Tourism, RD Vial, Hostos Rizik and the Dominican Municipal League. By offering the official statements of this event, Mayor Nelson Núñez invited the entire nation and international visitors to be part of this event. “From Wednesday, January 21st to Monday, January 26th, residents, national and foreign tourists will be able to enjoy family nights of high-level artistic talents completely free of charge,” he revealed.

“Thanks to the support of our president Luis Abinader, of this mayor’s office and a great team of institutions, we will have a constellation of stars with their successes over the Bay of Samaná. Come and enjoy the happiest rhythm in the world in the most beautiful place on earth!”, added Núñez.


One of the most important moments of the festival, which will be produced by the businessman Luis Medrano, in conjunction with the Municipal Mayor’s Office and the Organizing Committee, will be Saturday night, dedicated to the Generation Z of female merengue típico, with the participation of young exponents who are impacting the genre.


La Barbie del Acordeón, Nelly Swing, La Princesa del Acordeón, Rubalí Valerio and La Inquieta Típica, considered the successors of the Dominican rhythm, will take the stage.
The festival will also feature the participation of Frank Reyes, the “Diamond of Bachata”; Chiquito Team Band, with their salsa proposal; and maestro Bonny Cepeda. Generation Z will also be represented by Shadow Blow and Eudis El Invencible.
