Santo Domingo.- Mexico became this Tuesday the first country to surpass the 100-medal mark at the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games, an achievement it reached in just four days of competition in Santo Domingo and which solidified its lead with a total of 126 medals.
Of the 126-medal harvest by the Mexican delegation as of this Tuesday, 49 are gold, 45 are silver, and 32 are bronze. The sports that have yielded the most fruit so far in the competition are taekwondo, rowing, gymnastics, equestrian, diving, judo, and cycling.
The Mexicans, who are competing with 646 athletes, are followed in the medal table by Colombia, which has accumulated a total of 84 medals: 31 gold, 31 silver, and 22 bronze.

Surpassing the 100-medal mark was celebrated by the director of the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (Conade), the former Mexican diver Rommel Pacheco.
“100 medals and we continue to make history! Each medal represents hours of training, sacrifice, and the pride of wearing Mexico’s colors. Thank you to every athlete for proving that Mexican talent has no limits,” says the congratulatory message shared by Pacheco.

It is worth noting that in the 2018 Barranquilla games, Mexico achieved a total of 341 medals and in San Salvador 2023 it reached 353 medals.
