Michelle Obama claims that the United States “is not ready for a woman president”

Miami.- Former First Lady Michelle Obama stated that the United States “is not ready for a woman president,” reaffirming that she will not seek this position and that many men are not comfortable with female leadership. “As we saw in the last election, sadly, we are not ready. Therefore, I’m like: don’t even look at me about competing because all of you are lying. You are not ready for a woman. You are not. So don’t waste my time,” Obama declared at an event promoting her new book ‘The Look’. The wife of former President Barack Obama (2009-2017) considered that people in the United States “have a lot to grow” on the idea of having a woman as head of state.

“Sadly, there are still a lot of men who don’t feel they could be led by a woman, and we saw it. I think we still have to grow in that aspect, and we can see how progress can be made and things can be taken away when it comes to taking our power as women,” she expressed.

Michelle Obama led some opinion polls to be the Democratic presidential candidate in 2024, when then-President Joe Biden (2021-2025) was considering withdrawing from the race, but the former first lady and her husband supported Kamala Harris, who was the vice president.

In a rally, the former first lady defined the then-Republican candidate and now president, Donald Trump, as a “risk”, especially for women, and later he called her “disgusting”.
