Santo Domingo.– The Minister of Housing and Buildings, Víctor “Ito” Bisonó, stated this Sunday that the Government is fulfilling the commitment made to deliver the sports facilities on time for the XXV Central American and Caribbean Games Santo Domingo 2026, while urging the population to support the Dominican delegation during the regional event.

During the inauguration of one of the baseball stadiums at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, the official noted that the authorities have entered the final stage of delivering the sports infrastructure, following months of work to adapt the venues that will host the competitions.
“Just a few months ago we were talking about schedules, commitments, and dates. There were many questions and even doubts about whether we would arrive on time. Today the conversation is different: we are talking about finished works and fulfilled commitments,” he/she expressed.
Bisonó recalled that, since the beginning of his administration at the head of the Ministry of Housing and Buildings (MIVED), he made a commitment to complete the works under his responsibility before the start of the Games.

“We are fulfilling our commitment to the country and keeping our word,” he maintained.
The minister explained that the inaugurated stadium was completely renovated over an area exceeding 12,600 square meters and includes a new playing field, bleachers, dugouts, bullpens, athlete locker rooms, drainage and irrigation systems, lighting, electrical and sanitary installations, in addition to other improvements that place it in a condition to host international competitions.
Likewise, he highlighted that the investments made will not only serve for the celebration of the Central American and Caribbean Games, but will also benefit national sports and thousands of young people and families who will use these facilities once the event has concluded.

The official took advantage of the activity to invite the population to support the Dominican delegation during the competition.
“Athletes need the support of their people, the applause of their nation, and the backing of their families. I call on you all to celebrate these Games and to hold the Dominican flag high,” he stated.
Bisonó also reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to the development of baseball, by announcing that plans continue to build and renovate other stadiums, including the ballpark in the Cristo Rey sector, as part of strengthening the country’s sports infrastructure.
Finally, he expressed his confidence that the Dominican Republic will not only be a great host for the Santo Domingo 2026 Central American and Caribbean Games, but will also achieve outstanding sporting results with the support of its fans.
