Santo Domingo.- The Minister of Culture, Roberto Ángel Salcedo highlighted this Wednesday that holding an International Book Fair represents an opportunity to project and advance the internationalization of Dominican literature.
“This event, particularly a meeting with Dominican writers, is the ratification, the revalidation of the objectives that the Ministry of Culture has to export Dominican literature, to work on the internationalization of this creative effort and this wonderful talent that we have spread throughout the country,” expressed the Minister of Culture Roberto Ángel Salcedo.
Salcedo highlighted that nearly 40 international publishers are participating this year, which expands the literary offerings and strengthens cultural exchange. Likewise, he noted that the meeting with Dominican authors seeks to reaffirm efforts so that national literature continues to gain presence on international stages.
“We have the presence of nearly 40 international publishing houses accompanying us throughout these days. We have a very broad cultural and literary offering,” the minister detailed.

The headline highlighted the efforts being made to expand the presence of Dominican literature outside the country, with the goal that national works and authors achieve greater reach in international settings.
“That has been a great challenge for us, and that is why we want to hold this event to reaffirm that commitment, to resume these efforts so that this becomes a reality, and so that Dominican literature may reach its full splendor on the international stage, and so that we can also have a new generation of writers, not only within the territory of the Dominican Republic,” he explained.

The meeting was held within the framework of the XXVIII Santo Domingo International Book Fair 2026 and brought together Dominican authors in a space dedicated to celebrating national literature and highlighting the value of their voices and creations.
