Las Terrenas, Samaná. -The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, led an important coordination and socialization meeting of preventive measures for Holy Week 2026, with the aim of guaranteeing citizen security during the holiday.
In the meeting, the director general of the National Police, Major General Cruz Cruz, participated, along with the provincial governor, Teodora Mullix Geraldino, as well as the mayors Eduardo Esteban Polanco, Ana Reyes, Luis Felipe Fermín and Fernando Mercado. Community leaders and representatives of the commercial sector were also present.
During the meeting, the authorities addressed strategies aimed at reinforcing preventive patrols, traffic control, and police presence at key points, especially in high-traffic tourist areas such as Las Terrenas.
Furthermore, the importance of collaboration between state institutions, local governments, and citizens was highlighted to prevent incidents and ensure a safe environment for both residents and visitors.
