Santo Domingo. The Minister of Interior and Police, Faride Raful, together with the director of the General Directorate of Traffic and Land Transportation Safety (DIGESETT), Pascual Cruz Méndez, received a commission from the municipality of Sábana Yegua, Azua province, which raised the need to reinforce road safety measures in light of the traffic accidents recorded in that locality.
The delegation was led by the municipal mayor, Francis Abreu de la Rosa, accompanied by community representatives. The meeting was also attended by the director of Paving of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications, Joan Sabino; the director of Traffic and Roadways of the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (INTRANT), Joel Neco; the director of Citizen Complaints and Claims of the Ministry of Interior and Police, Wendy Zapata, and the deputy director of Planning of DIGESETT, Alejandro Piñeyro.

During the meeting, various actions were coordinated aimed at reducing road accidents in Sábana Yegua, including the construction of speed bumps, the installation of vertical and horizontal signage, the placement of flashing traffic lights, and the strengthening of lighting at strategic points.
The authorities highlighted that these initiatives seek to preserve lives, improve mobility, and ensure safer circulation for drivers and pedestrians in this community in the province of Azua.
