Santo Domingo.– With the purpose of promoting an exchange of ideas on the policies that have driven economic growth in different countries, the Ministry of the Presidency (Minpre) and the National Council of Competitiveness (CNC) will hold the Meta RD 2036 Forum on August 5th, an event that will feature the participation of President Luis Abinader and prominent international experts.
The conference will serve as a space to analyze successful experiences in terms of development, competitiveness, modernization of the State, and the formulation of evidence-based public policies, with the aim of providing tools that contribute to the strengthening of the Dominican Republic’s growth model.
Among the speakers is Michael Kremer, a professor at the University of Chicago and winner of the 2019 Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences, recognized for his research on the impact of evidence-based public policies to combat poverty and foster development.
The program also includes the participation of Andrés Velasco, former Minister of Finance of Chile and current Dean of the School of Public Policy at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), who will speak about the experiences of fiscal discipline and economic stability implemented during his tenure.
