MOPC celebrates 91 years and guarantees timely works and payments to contractors

In the framework of the 91st anniversary of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC), Minister Eduardo Estrella established this Friday a clear guideline for contractors and technical teams: strict adherence to deadlines, maximum quality in execution and absolute guarantee of payment by the State.

“The country expects well-made works delivered on time. We guarantee the resources, you guarantee the quality,” said Estrella, after concluding the Eucharist celebrated in the Primate Cathedral, headed by Monsignor Carlos Tomás Morel Diplán and with the presence of Vice President Raquel Peña and First Lady Raquel Arbaje. The minister thanked President Luis Abinader for the trust placed in him and reaffirmed that institutionalism and closeness to the people will continue to be the hallmark of the management.

“We are birds of passage and only leave footprints through service, we must listen to the communities, address their concerns and accompany them in the process,” he highlighted. He also made a special recognition to the MOPC workers —“those who uphold the prestige of this institution with their effort”— and announced that he is working on a salary readjustment for this essential personnel. During the homily, Monsignor Morel emphasized the importance of institutionalism in public service and called on public servants to maintain “the human and social sense” of service to the country. Upon concluding the event, Estrella led a floral offering at the Altar de la Patria, as a tribute to the founders of the nation.
