Barcelona.- The mother of Noelia Castillo, the young woman from the Catalan region of Garraf who received euthanasia on March 26, filed two complaints with the Barcelona and Tarragona public prosecutor’s offices to investigate two alleged sexual assaults that, she maintains, her daughter suffered before the suicide attempt that left her paraplegic.
According to the Catalan News Agency (ACN), the complaints are accompanied by handwritten notes prepared by Noelia herself, as well as other documents that, according to the mother, would provide key information to identify the alleged perpetrators.
The woman asserts that both assaults deeply marked her daughter’s life and had a significant impact on her emotional state before the suicide attempt that completely changed her health condition.
The case of Noelia Castillo gained notoriety in Spain after she received euthanasia on March 26, amidst a broad debate over the application of this procedure and the legal appeals filed by family members to try to stop it.
