Santo Domingo Este. The relatives of engineer Danilo Ramírez, 74, requested this Monday the collaboration of the authorities to identify the motorcyclist who allegedly struck him and fled the scene of the accident, which occurred Sunday afternoon on San Vicente de Paúl Avenue, near the Megacentro shopping center.
According to the version provided by his relatives, the incident occurred around 3:00 in the afternoon, when the driver of a motorcycle was performing maneuvers known as “popping a wheelie” and, after losing control, struck the elderly man.
After the crash, the motorcyclist allegedly fled without assisting the victim. People who were at the scene provided first aid to the engineer and notified emergency services for his transport to a health center.

Family members reported that Ramírez remains hospitalized in critical condition due to the injuries sustained, including several rib fractures and severe head trauma.

Given the situation, they asked the authorities to review the surveillance cameras installed in the area to identify the person responsible for the accident and establish the corresponding responsibilities.
