Motorcyclists break vehicle windows after alleged attempted robbery of a driver in La Ciénaga

Santo Domingo.– A female driver reported being the victim of an alleged attempted robbery by several motorcyclists, who also vandalized her vehicle in an incident that occurred in the La Ciénaga sector, in the vicinity of the Duarte highway.

According to the complaint, the woman was intercepted by a group of motorcyclists who blamed her for an alleged fall and demanded money on the spot. However, the driver asserted that it was not a simple traffic incident, but an attempted extortion.

It wasn’t a brush-in, it was an attempted robbery“, stated the complainant, explaining that the individuals used the alleged fall as a pretext to pressure her and force her to hand over money.

According to her version, the motorcyclists surrounded her while claiming that the accident had happened “because of her” and demanded that she hand over cash. Faced with the woman’s refusal, they allegedly also requested that she make a bank transfer.

The situation turned violent when, upon not obtaining the money, the aggressors allegedly looked for stones and broke the front and rear windows of the vehicle before leaving.

Residents of the sector expressed their concern regarding these types of incidents and requested a greater presence of the National Police to reinforce security in the area and prevent similar situations from continuing to occur.
