La Vega. – Members of the Subdirección de Investigaciones Criminales (DICRIM) of the National Police in this province arrested four people, allegedly linked to a criminal network dedicated to the theft of motorcycles, following a complaint filed by a citizen residing in Santiago de los Caballeros. According to the police report, after conducting investigation work and tracking through the GPS location system, the location of the stolen vehicle was marked on Monseñor Panal Street, in this city of La Vega. Upon arriving at the designated location, the agents proceeded to arrest José Cornelio Hernández, Sebastián Hernández Galán, Ramón Liriano Cabreja and Daniel Abreo Sandobal, who were caught in possession of three motorcycles.

Authorities reported that one of the motorcycles is listed as stolen in the police system, while investigations are underway to determine the origin of the others and establish whether the detainees are linked to other similar criminal acts.

The detainees will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office in the coming hours for the corresponding legal purposes.
