DUM Editorial.- The Thai businessman, Nawat Itsaragrisil, who served as host of the 2025 edition of Miss Universe, announced on August 22 that procedures are underway to expedite the issuance of an arrest warrant against the current Miss Universe, the Mexican Fátima Bosch.
The message, posted on his Instagram account, points out that the action is related to a case of “defamation, false accusations and dissemination of false information, with clear evidence to support it”.
The post was accompanied by an image of a police report which, according to Thai media, was prepared at the Wat Phraya Krai police station in Bangkok. Nawat did not offer further details about the process nor did he explain at what stage the arrest warrant request is currently at.
The CEO of Miss Universe Eastern and the model from Tabasco were involved in a dispute during the events leading up to the grand final of last year’s pageant. At that time, Bosch accused the executive of allegedly insulting her after he confronted her about the lack of promotion for Thailand, the host country of the contest, in addition to accusing him of trying to silence her.

According to Bosch’s version, Nawat called her a “featherbrain,” while the businessman denied having used that expression.
The discussion escalated and subsequently accusations of alleged fraud in the pageant arose after Bosch was crowned. Nawat later separated from the Miss Universe organization amidst the controversy.
What did Fátima Bosch respond after Nawat’s announcement?
“Asking for respect is not a provocation”, wrote Bosch on her social media. The model accompanied the phrase with a message in which she asserted that no woman should face intimidation for defending her dignity.
The woman from Tabasco added a statement from the Miss Universe organization, in which support for her was expressed. “It should never result in months of bullying. Today it is my turn, but my wish is that no woman has to go through it,” she added.
Fátima, who is about to conclude her reign, has already spoken on several occasions about the harassment she faced after her coronation.
The Miss Universe statement
Miss Universe issued an official statement in which it categorically condemned the harassment and acts of intimidation related to the controversy that Bosch reported. Titled “Statement in support of Fátima Bosch and the dignity of women”, the document establishes that no participant should remain silent or compromise her integrity to achieve a title or a position.
“Violence, intimidation, humiliation, lack of respect, and mistreatment towards women, in any of their forms, are unacceptable,” it dictates.
In the message, the organization highlighted that Fátima’s decision to speak up to defend her dignity serves as a reminder that “respect is not something earned through silence, it is a right”.
She also called for solidarity among women and maintained that supporting one another must be a commitment to listen, protect, accompany, and raise one’s voice when silence allows mistreatment to continue.
“Women supporting women cannot just be a phrase. It must be a commitment to listen, to protect, to stand by others, and to speak up when silence would allow mistreatment to continue. For Fátima: we see you, we hear you, and we are with you,” the statement concludes.
