Caracas.- Opposition former deputy Dinorah Figuera, who defends the continuity of the National Assembly (AN, Parliament) elected in 2015, arrived in Venezuela this Wednesday from Spain to continue the dialogue sessions initiated last Saturday with Chavismo under the backing of the U.S., sources close to her confirmed to EFE.
The opposition leader arrived at the General José Antonio Anzoátegui International Airport, in the east of the country, accompanied by a commission of former deputies from the 2015 Assembly, and is expected to be in Caracas by nightfall, the source said.
Upon his arrival, Figuera reiterated to the local press that the work agenda for the coming days will be focused on addressing the consequences of the earthquakes on June 24, which left more than 6,000 dead, 16,740 injured, and nearly 18,000 people homeless.
“This is going to have a priority agenda that will mean the recognition of the area, the impact of what this tragedy was, how the victims of this situation will be accompanied, and what we are committed to providing,” Figuera indicated to El Diario.

He also indicated that they will address issues such as the recomposition of the National Electoral Council (CNE) so that it is “credible and reliable,” the reinstitutionalization of the Supreme Tribunal of Justice (TSJ), and the “guarantee of having guaranteed political and civil rights.”
Figuera also stated to the private television channel Televen that this process will take time and that it will be “until December 2026” when “the entire product” of the work will be “formally presented.”
Likewise, he thanked the head of U.S. diplomacy, Marco Rubio, for his support in building the work agenda.
