The line between technology, entertainment, and mobility continues to blur. Sony Honda Mobility confirmed that the Afeela, its first electric vehicle, will incorporate PlayStation Remote Play, becoming the first car to offer this feature natively.
With this, passengers will be able to stream games from a PS4 or PS5 console directly to the vehicle’s screen, transforming the interior into a connected game room.
Thanks to this technology, passengers will be able to access their console and play using the IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) interface, taking advantage of both the integrated screen and the vehicle’s premium audio system.
The experience is designed for moments of stopping or waiting, although it also seeks to entertain companions during long trips. In the case of the driver, the use of Remote Play will only be enabled when the car is completely parked.
Sony Honda Mobility highlights that this integration reflects the brand’s vision: to transform the travel space into an emotional and immersive experience, closer to a digital environment than a traditional cabin. For smooth operation, a minimum connection of 5 Mbps will be required, with a stable speed of at least 15 Mbps recommended.
The Afeela 1, the first model of the alliance between Sony and Honda, is a high-tech electric sedan. It has a dual motor, all-wheel drive, and a power output close to 483 HP, in addition to a 91 kWh battery that promises a range of around 480 kilometers. This is complemented by a complete package of driving assistance systems, developed with sensors, cameras, and LiDAR technology.
With an estimated price close to 90 thousand dollars and a launch projected for 2026, the Afeela will not only compete in the premium electric segment, but also seeks to differentiate itself by offering a unique digital ecosystem. The arrival of PlayStation inside the car confirms a clear trend: the vehicle of the future will also be a connected entertainment space.
