Santo Domingo. – The
National Police reported that it is investigating a social conflict allegedly originated by old personal grudges between groups in the La Caleta sector, an event that left a young man dead and his brother seriously injured.
This was explained by the institution’s spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, who detailed that the incident occurred in the vicinity of a place selling alcoholic beverages and games, specifically a pool hall, on December 26th.
“This was a social conflict whose origin, apparently, is old personal grudges maintained by groups in this area, including one called ‘Los Macaos’,” Pesqueira indicated.
During the event, Elwin Sander Urbáez Delgado, nicknamed La Puca, 20 years old, lost his life due to gunshot wounds, while his brother, Elwin Sander Urbáez Delgado, alias Nan, 18 years old, was injured and remains admitted to a health center.
The police spokesperson reported that, in relation to this case, the authorities are actively pursuing several individuals identified as Erick Jiménez, nicknamed El Pricle, Ariel Elfaro, Javier, as well as others known only by the aliases El Flaco, Junior, Juan Carlos and El Chulo, who are being sought for their alleged connection to the event.
The event has caused consternation in the community of La Caleta, where family members and neighbors have expressed their pain and demanded justice. According to the context of the case, the tragedy occurred after a family celebration during the Christmas holidays, turning a night of sharing into an episode marked by violence.
Authorities reiterated that investigations are ongoing to fully clarify the circumstances of the event and find the whereabouts of those responsible.
