Yailin La Más Viral’s lawyers claim she is innocent; they attribute the weapons to another person

Santo Domingo.– The legal team of urban artist Yailin La Más Viral assured this Tuesday that their client is “totally innocent” in the process being investigated following her arrest for the seizure of two firearms inside her vehicle. Lawyers Randy Joel Banks, Henry Romero, and Josué García stated that one of the people accompanying the interpreter at the time of the arrest declared to the authorities that the weapons were his property, assuming responsibility during his appearance at the Prosecutor’s Office of Santo Domingo Este. “The guns are mine, the guns are mine”, the individual would have stated, according to the defense, which considers this statement as a key element within the process. Likewise, they indicated that the man claimed to have introduced the weapons into the vehicle without the artist’s consent. The defense also questioned the handling of the case by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, alleging that the person who took responsibility for the weapons has not been duly considered within the investigation.

“Here, they are simply attacking a figure, when the Public Ministry already has a preliminary investigation and knows who is responsible for the act. The person declared themselves responsible for the weapons, but the Public Ministry doesn’t even want to hear or document that declaration,” the jurists expressed.

The case is being investigated by prosecutor Wilson Díaz, who is leading the corresponding proceedings to determine the responsibilities in the event. Following her arrest, the artist, whose real name is Jorgina Guillermo Díaz, was transferred to the San Luis preventive jail, where she will remain while the investigations proceed. According to the preliminary report from the National Police, the interpreter was found with two firearms inside a green Lamborghini vehicle, license plate Z007935. Authorities detailed that it is a Glock 19 pistol, fifth generation, with a magazine and two cartridges, and a Zoraki pistol with a magazine and five cartridges, both under expert analysis. The Public Ministry has a period of 48 hours to present the artist before a judge, who could impose a coercive measure if the prosecutors so request. The hours begin to be counted from the moment of her arrest.
