Police capture man linked to three robberies in the National District

Santo Domingo.– Agents of the National Police arrested a man accused of participating in three robberies that occurred in different sectors of the National District, cases that were solved through investigative work.

The detainee was identified as Deilin Medina, alias “Robín”, 34 years old, a resident of the El Caliche sector, Los Pinos. According to the police report, he was located during a search operation and, upon noticing the presence of the officers, he attempted to escape along with two other men, although he was captured immediately.

According to the National Police, during the investigation process, Medina admitted his participation in the three reported incidents.

One of the cases corresponds to the theft from a Fiat Fiorino van, from which a video camera, electrical extension cords, and a basket were stolen. The defendant stated that he sold the items to a passerby and used the money obtained to cover personal expenses.

Investigations also link him to a robbery at a home in the 27 de Febrero sector, where RD$10,000 in cash and a television were stolen.

In addition, he was identified as the alleged perpetrator of the theft of electrical networks from a commercial establishment located in the Villa María sector.

The law enforcement institution reported that the three cases were solved thanks to the intelligence and investigation work carried out by the acting agents.

The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal actions.
