Prisoner Stabs Another in Preventive Jail of La Policía in La Vega

La Vega.- A violent incident occurred in the “carcelita” or preventive cell of the National Police Regional Directorate in La Vega, where an inmate injured another prisoner with a knife. The victim was identified as Emilio José Rivas, who suffered multiple cuts as a result of the assault. The attacker is Luis Adonis, an inmate with a criminal record that includes charges for homicide and contract killing. According to preliminary reports, Emilio José Rivas had been arrested hours before the assault. His background includes an altercation at a private clinic, where he allegedly disarmed a guard of part of his shotgun, and an outstanding arrest warrant for domestic violence.

Police authorities indicated that the motives behind the aggression are still under investigation. Officers intervened quickly to control the situation, immobilize the aggressor, and transfer Rivas to a medical center, where his health condition has been reported as reserved. The attacker, Luis Adonis, remains under strict surveillance and will now have to face new criminal charges for this recent incident within the police facilities.
