Santo Domingo.– The General Directorate of Penitentiary and Correctional Services (DGSPC) reported the death of an inmate who was being held at the Deprivation of Liberty Center (CPL) located at the San Fernando Fortress of the Dominican Republic Army.
The victim was identified as Iván Manuel de Luna, who reportedly died after receiving a blow to the back of his head after being allegedly pushed by another inmate.
According to the information provided by the DGSPC, the person identified as the alleged aggressor is Makensye Jean, alias “Soso”, who is serving a 30-year prison sentence.
The penitentiary authority explained that the removal of the body was carried out by Dr. Rosibel Grullón, accompanied by prosecutor Yoanny Herrera and Sergeant Major Suárez Almánzar, a member of the National Police assigned to the Central Investigation Directorate (Dicrim).

Subsequently, De Luna’s body was transferred to the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif) in Santiago, where the corresponding studies will be carried out to officially establish the cause of his death.
As investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue, the inmate identified as the alleged perpetrator was transferred to the reflection area of the penitentiary center for the corresponding legal procedures.
