Proindustria and Senatorial Office promote transformation plan to strengthen the Bonao Free Zone

Bonao.– With the purpose of strengthening economic development and expanding employment opportunities in the Monseñor Nouel province, the general director of the Industrial Development and Competitiveness Center (Proindustria), Rafael Cruz Rodríguez, and the province’s senator, Héctor Acosta, carried out a working visit to the Bonao Free Trade Zone Park, where they evaluated important initiatives aimed at revitalizing this important industrial complex.

During the tour, both authorities inspected the facilities and analyzed the current conditions of the park, establishing a roadmap aimed at the recovery of productive spaces, the attraction of new investments, and the creation of more job opportunities for the residents of the province.

The director of Proindustria highlighted that the institution maintains a firm commitment to strengthening the national industrial sector and pointed out that Bonao occupies a strategic place within the expansion and development plans promoted by the Dominican Government.

Likewise, he explained that work is being done on the rehabilitation of industrial buildings that remained unused, as well as on the modernization of existing infrastructure, with the aim of offering greater facilities to national and international investors interested in establishing operations in the area.

For his part, Senator Héctor Acosta positively valued the visit and expressed that the comprehensive recovery of the industrial park represents a significant opportunity to boost the local economy and generate decent jobs for hundreds of families in Monseñor Nouel.

“We are committed to promoting initiatives that contribute to the economic growth of our province and that allow our young people to find new development opportunities without having to leave their homeland,” stated the legislator.

The authorities agreed that the coordination between Proindustria and the Senatorial Office will allow for the acceleration of projects that contribute to making the Bonao Free Zone a regional benchmark for competitiveness, innovation, and productivity.

At the conclusion of the meeting, they reaffirmed their willingness to continue working in a coordinated manner to strengthen the province’s industrial capacity, promote the arrival of new companies, and consolidate Bonao as one of the main manufacturing development hubs in the northern region of the country.
