PRSC leader and former agricultural official Pedro Agustín Bretón Taveras dies in Santiago

Santiago.- This Thursday, the leader of the Social Christian Reformist Party (PRSC) and a recognized professional in the agricultural sector, Pedro Agustín Bretón Taveras, passed away in the province of Santiago.

His remains will be displayed at the Fuente de Luz Memorial Park, next Saturday, May 23, in chapel B, starting at 9:00 in the morning, according to a press release. The funeral mass is scheduled for 2:00 in the afternoon in the Ecumenical hall, while the burial will take place at 3:00 in the afternoon of the same day.

Career in public service

Bretón Taveras developed an extensive career in public administration, with contributions to the strengthening of the agricultural sector and state institutions in the Dominican Republic. During the governments of Doctor Joaquín Balaguer, he held various positions, including administrator of the Agricultural Bank, director of the Tobacco Institute, regional agricultural director of the northern zone, director of the Dominican Corporation of State Enterprises (CORDE), and designated Minister of Agriculture. His work was recognized in the political and agricultural fields for his contribution to the institutional development of the country.
