Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) announced that starting tonight, vehicular traffic will be temporarily suspended in the underpass of 27 de Febrero Avenue with Tiradentes, due to the continuation of intervention work on the structure. The closure will begin at 10:00 p.m. this Friday and will last until Monday at 4:00 a.m., according to the institution. The MOPC explained that this measure is part of a technical programming that is executed at night, with the aim of reducing the impact on daily mobility and ensuring safety conditions for both drivers and the personnel working on the road. Furthermore, the entity reported that this Saturday, May 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, the floating bridge over the Ozama River will also be temporarily closed.

The closure is due to the passage of the vessel M/V Bourbon Liberty 308, which will be leaving the Joseph Industrial Development Corp. Shipyard. During that period, the MOPC recommended that drivers use the Juan Pablo Duarte, Juan Bosch, and Matías Ramón Mella bridges as alternative routes. The floating bridge connects the National District with the Villa Duarte sector, in Santo Domingo East.
