Despite the overwhelming neighborhood vote and the endorsement granted by the competent municipal body, the outgoing president of the neighborhood association, Eunice Cornielle, has publicly expressed her rejection of the legitimate results of this assembly.

This position has been described by community members as an act of blatant illegality, which violates community statutes, disregards the authority of the National District City Council, and directly infringes upon the legitimate right of residents to elect and be elected.

“It is regrettable that an attempt is being made to tarnish such a beautiful, transparent, and participatory process for mere private interests. The community spoke peacefully and decisively, and official institutions have already validated this will. To disregard this mandate is to place oneself outside the law,” expressed community leaders present.
