The Puerto Rico Department of Health will receive a federal grant of $5,514,978 awarded by the United States Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), in order to reinforce services aimed at mothers and children on the Island. According to a communication, the funds come from the Maternal and Child Health Services (B04) program of the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The allocation, which will cover the period from October 1, 2025 to September 30, 2027, will allow for the promotion of essential public health initiatives, including prenatal care, pediatric services, vaccination, and community education programs on prevention and well-being. The Department of Health will lead the projects supported by this investment.
