Residents of Santo Domingo Norte hold a ‘cacerolazo’ against blackouts

Santo Domingo.– Faced with the strong wave of blackouts affecting different sectors of the country, residents in different sectors of North Santo Domingo held a pot-banging protest tonight against the energy distribution company EDEESTE. With pots, lids, and metallic objects, the community members made their discontent known in the face of the prolonged electrical interruptions that, according to their complaints, have altered their daily activities, affected commerce, and put the safety of families at risk.

Protesters pointed out that the situation has become unsustainable and demanded that EDEESTE offer a clear response regarding the causes of the blackouts, as well as an immediate solution that guarantees a stable and continuous service. The pot-banging joins the expressions of discontent that in recent days have been recorded in other parts of Greater Santo Domingo, where the population demands quality electricity.
