Puerto Rico.– Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin celebrated the 18th birthday of his eldest sons, Matteo and Valentino, who have reached adulthood and are beginning a new chapter marked by their own personalities and interests.
The twins were born on August 6, 2008 and since then have occupied a central place in the artist’s life, who on multiple occasions has spoken publicly about the importance of fatherhood and his intention to accompany them closely during every stage of their growth.
Martin turned to surrogacy to become a father and has described the arrival of Matteo and Valentino as an experience that transformed his priorities.
The names also have a special meaning for the singer. As he explained in the past, Valentino means “the brave one”, while Matteo means “a gift from God”.

During his children’s early years, the artist sought to be directly involved in their upbringing, even while maintaining an intense schedule of concerts, recordings, and international commitments.

Two different personalities
Although they share the same date of birth, Matteo and Valentino have developed distinct personalities and interests.
Matteo has maintained a more reserved profile, away from public exposure, while Valentino has shown a greater presence on social media and a particular interest in dancing and content creation.
The young man has also expressed his desire to build his own identity, independent of his father’s fame, and to be recognized for his own interests and personality.

A family that grew
After the birth of Matteo and Valentino, Ricky Martin’s family grew with the arrival of Lucía, in 2018, and Renn, in 2019, children he had with his then-husband, Jwan Yosef.
The artist has highlighted on different occasions the differences between his four children and has described the family dynamic as a set of unique personalities.
With Matteo and Valentino turning 18, Ricky Martin also celebrates a symbolic date in his own history as a father, nearly two decades after the twins transformed his life.
During his recent family vacation in Puerto Rico, the singer once again publicly displayed that bond by wearing a pearl necklace with the initials of his four children: Matteo, Valentino, Lucía, and Renn.
