Samaná successfully celebrates the closing of the Patriotic Quarter 2026
Samaná, R.D. – In an atmosphere charged with identity, culture, and deep patriotic sentiment, the closing ceremony of the Patriotic Quarter corresponding to March 2026 took place, with the outstanding participation of the educational centers of the district.
The activity was led by the district director, Adalberta Lucía Calcaño Maldonado, along with the organizing committee of the Patriotic Quarter, who highlighted the importance of keeping historical memory alive and strengthening the values that define us as a nation.
During the event, students from different educational centers presented a varied sample of artistic and cultural expressions, addressing topics such as national symbols, national independence, Dominican identity, indigenous culture, merengue, gastronomy, agriculture, and the country’s natural wealth.
The presentations included dances, dramatizations, choirs, parades, marches, and theatrical performances that demonstrated the talent, creativity, and commitment of the educational community to the formation of patriotic values.
Likewise, homage was paid to historical figures such as Juan Pablo Duarte, Francisco del Rosario Sánchez, Matías Ramón Mella, María Trinidad Sánchez and the Mirabal Sisters, highlighting their legacy in the construction of a free and sovereign Republic.
This closing of the Patriotic Quarter not only marked the end of an educational journey, but also reaffirmed the commitment of students, teachers, and authorities to the promotion of the values of respect, solidarity, justice, and love for the homeland.
The district director highlighted that this type of activity strengthens national identity from the classrooms, forming citizens aware of their role in society and committed to the country’s development.
The event concluded with a message of reflection, inviting all those present to continue honoring history and to keep the patriotic spirit alive in every daily action.
