Padre Las Casas, Azua.– The councilman of the municipality of Padre Las Casas, Sandy Báez, expressed his concern regarding the prolonged power outages that continue to affect communities in the Southern region, considering that the situation has become unsustainable due to the high temperatures and the losses it causes to the population and the productive sector.
The councilman reported that during the past weekend several communities remained without electricity for periods of up to 15 hours, describing the situation as alarming.
“No one can put up with these blackouts. In this heat, spending so many hours without electricity is desperate. Small business owners are crying out because they see their sales affected; their products and equipment are damaged, while families suffer the consequences. The worst part of all is that there is no clear explanation as to what is happening,” Báez expressed.

The municipal representative maintained that service interruptions directly impact the quality of life of citizens and affect commercial activities, especially small businesses that depend on electricity to preserve their products and operate normally.
Likewise, he called on the electricity sector authorities to transparently report the causes of the constant blackouts and to adopt urgent measures to restore a stable and reliable service for the communities in the south of the country.
