Santo Domingo. A man identified as Robinson John Mandes, sentenced to 30 years in prison, released a video in which he claims he is serving a sentence unjustly and requests that the authorities review his case.
In the recording, Mendes states that he was convicted for an act for which they hold his brother, Richard John Mendes, responsible, whom he describes as a person who, in his words, had a history of conflicts with the law and problems in his community.
The convicted person maintains that there is no evidence linking him to the crime for which he was sentenced and asserts that during the judicial process, no videos, material evidence, or other elements were presented that, in his view, would prove his participation in the events.
“I am being held innocently for 30 years in prison. I want my case to be investigated and for justice to be served,” he expresses in the audiovisual, where he also makes an appeal to the Public Ministry and media figures, including Ramón Tolentino and Santiago Matías, to learn about his situation.

Likewise, he asked the public to share the video so that his case can gain greater visibility and be subject to review by the competent authorities.
During his message, Mendes stated that he considers it unfair to lose his youth in prison for a crime he claims he did not commit, while reiterating his request for the investigation to be reopened and for the circumstances that led to his conviction to be re-examined.
So far, the authorities have not issued an official response regarding the statements made by the convicted person or a possible review of the judicial process.
