Bahoruco.– Two people died and two others were injured during a shooting that occurred in the early hours of this Saturday at the Central Park of Villa Jaragua, Bahoruco province.
The fatalities were identified as Moreno and Juan Diego, 21 years old. According to preliminary information, the 21-year-old was not involved in the conflict that allegedly triggered the confrontation.
The injured were identified as Berta Josefina Sena and Sergio Méndez, who received medical attention and were subsequently transferred to the Jaime Mota Hospital, in Barahona.
According to initial reports, the incident occurred after Durvin Peña Méndez, known as “Quequelo”, and Moreno crossed paths in the park during the early morning hours.

The authorities are investigating the incident and are considering old disputes between local families as a possible motive. According to the information gathered, the conflicts date back to 1993 and have been marked by other violent acts and deaths among members of both family groups.
