VILLA JARAGUA.— Dozens of residents of Barbacoa Street, formerly K, in the Brisas del Este sector, known as The Other Side of Villa Jaragua, reported that they have been without electrical power for more than a week.
The community members explained that the service interruption occurred after a transformer installed by the Villa Jaragua City Council exploded as part of a project aimed at placing poles and lighting on the road, which had remained in darkness for decades.
According to residents, they have made multiple calls to EDESUR to address the breakdown and restore the supply, but so far they have not received a response that would allow the problem to be solved.

The lack of electricity, they claim, has complicated the daily activities of families and increases the risks of improvised electrical connections, especially amidst the high temperatures affecting the area.

Among the most affected are older adults and people with special conditions residing in the sector, who require electrical service to carry out their daily activities.
Faced with this situation, community members described the wait as desperate and requested that the authorities intervene urgently to repair the transformer and restore electrical service to the community.
