Santiago de los Caballeros.- The Single System of Beneficiaries (SIUBEN) will begin a socioeconomic survey in the Santiago Oeste municipal district to identify families and communities in vulnerable conditions and improve the targeting of the Government’s social protection programs.
The general director of SIUBEN, Augusto Virgilio de los Santos Almánzar, explained that the process will prioritize the areas indicated by poverty maps, with the purpose of updating statistics and determining where the population requiring the most state assistance is concentrated.
“We are presenting the socioeconomic survey process that will be carried out in the Santiago Oeste municipal district, with the goal of identifying the most vulnerable areas and bringing social protection to those who truly need it,” he/she stated.
De los Santos Almánzar indicated that the day is part of a territory updating process and that the physical goal of the survey will be evaluated based on the data obtained during the fieldwork.
The governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, highlighted that the diagnosis will allow for directly knowing the living conditions of the communities and establishing with greater precision who qualifies to receive the services and benefits of the State.

The activity took place in the Juan Pablo Duarte hall, with the participation of Senator Daniel Rivera, Deputy Daysi Díaz, the provincial director of SIUBEN, Gerardo Ortiz, community leaders, officials, and residents of Santiago Oeste.

The authorities indicated that the registry update seeks to close gaps, improve the distribution of social aid, and prevent State resources from reaching people who do not meet the vulnerability criteria, ensuring more precise and effective assistance.
