San Francisco de Macoris. — Student and community leader Ángel Luis Reyes was arrested by agents of the National Police and the Central Intelligence Directorate (DINTEL).
At the time of being transferred to police facilities, Ángel Luis Reyes stated that his arrest is a response to political pressure and persecution due to his protest work.
“This comes from a political side. The only thing I am doing here is defending the rights of the students. If they want to send me to prison for defending the rights of the students, I am at their disposal,” the activist stated.
