Duarte Prosecutor’s Office does not receive Ángel Luis Reyes despite an active arrest warrant

San Francisco de Macorís, Duarte.– The Duarte Prosecutor’s Office did not receive popular and student leader Ángel Luis Reyes this Friday, who voluntarily went to the San Francisco de Macorís Courthouse accompanied by representatives of the Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP), popular leaders, lawyers, and supporters.

According to the information provided at the scene, Reyes presented himself to the authorities with the intention of addressing the proceedings against him. However, he was not received by the Public Prosecutor’s Office, even though the arrest warrant issued against him remains in effect.

The situation led to the presence of dozens of people in the vicinity of the Palace of Justice, where the leader’s companions remained waiting for a response from the authorities.

So far, the Public Prosecutor’s Office has not offered an official version regarding the reasons why Ángel Luis Reyes was not received, nor on the steps to follow in relation to the judicial process.
