Santo Domingo.- The Social Development Directorate Supérate held an intense work agenda in the Southern region of the country this weekend, leading territorial meetings in the provinces of Barahona, Azua and San Cristóbal, which were attended by a total of 1,800 families beneficiaries of the subsidies Aliméntate, Bono Gas, Bono Luz, Aprende, Avanza, Supérate Mujer, Fondo Discapacidad, granted by the Dominican Government.
The general director of the Supérate Social Development Directorate, Mayra Jiménez, pointed out that these days have been designed as an exercise in active listening and social dialogue, to interact directly with thousands of beneficiary families of the programs, collect experiences and identify challenges in accessing services.
The deployment in these three southern provinces responds to the territorial articulation strategy that seeks to have public policies present in people’s lives and homes. From the desk to the territory, it seeks to faithfully respond to the realities and dynamics of each community.

With these actions, from the government of President Luis Abinader and Supérate, the critical path to eliminate extreme poverty by the year 2028 and achieve Zero Hunger is reinforced, thereby complying with one of the most important Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for human dignity. Likewise, it is sought that each social intervention contributes tangibly to the protection of rights and the strengthening of the capacities of families in vulnerable situations.
These meetings in the South region, and those that will be held in the other provinces of the country, are a key piece of the new institutional framework established by Decree No. 160-25, which unifies responsibilities to achieve a greater consolidation in social protection programs.
During the sessions, the beneficiary people shared the impact that the components of Food Support, Care, Supérate Mujer and comprehensive Socio-family Accompaniment have had on their homes. The dialogue also allowed to evaluate the progress in training programs for employment and entrepreneurship, key elements for households to achieve a sustainable economic autonomy.

For territorial work, Supérate has been organized according to the ten planning regions established nationally, which represent strategic spaces for the articulation of social policy, where programs, services, provincial, local and community authorities converge.
