Santo Domingo. – The General Directorate of Fine Arts and the National Contemporary Dance Company announced the staging of “The Last Wedding”, a formidable show that will be part of the rich program of the International Contemporary Dance Festival (EDANCO) 2025, on September 26 and 27, at 8:30 pm, in the Máximo Avilés Blonda Hall of the Palace of Fine Arts.
With dramaturgy and choreography by Rafael Morla and direction by maestro Edmundo Poy, the play brings together a cast of outstanding performers, such as Dayme Del Toro, Patricia Ortega, Wileydy Contrera, Jonas Padilla, Erick Roque and Jeremy Caro, who will unleash all their stage power to bring to life a production that questions and celebrates at the same time one of humanity’s most emblematic rituals: the wedding.
Tickets are available at the box office of the Palacio de Bellas Artes for a cost of 300 pesos.
The show is described as “the bridal scream of the 21st century, the end of an era,” where the dancers express through their bodies, emotions, voices, and costumes the tensions, illusions, and symbols that surround marriage as an ancestral institution.
