The “Path of Faith” unites Santiago in a pilgrimage of prayer and fraternity
Santiago de los Caballeros.- In a day marked by the grace of God and spiritual fervor, the Archdiocese of Santiago de los Caballeros, through the Pastoral of Religious Tourism and in strategic alliance with the Tourist Cluster of Santiago, celebrated a new edition of the religious experience “Path of Faith”.
This pilgrimage, carried out within the framework of the Franciscan Jubilee Year, became an encounter of deep communion and spiritual renewal for a large group of parishioners.
From the early hours of the morning, a large group of Catholic Christians, men, women, and young people of all ages, gathered to embark on this path of faith, guided by the desire to get closer to the Lord through the history and legacy of our local Church.
The tour, which seeks to delve into Christian life and the sense of community, began at the Parish of Our Lady of Altagracia, from where the participants walked with a spirit of prayer towards the Parish of San José de la Montaña, and then continued towards the Parish of San Antonio de Padua.
During the journey, the pilgrims were able to meditate on Franciscan spirituality, the humility and simplicity that characterized the “Poverello” of Assisi, fundamental values for the Christian of today.
The day was led by Brenda Sánchez, president of the Santiago Tourist Cluster, and Father Edwin Alonso, vicar of the Religious Tourism Pastoral, who highlighted the positive impact of this route not only as a cultural attraction, but also as a powerful tool for evangelization.
The highlight of the experience was the celebration of the Holy Eucharist in the Metropolitan Cathedral Santiago Apóstol, presided over by Monsignor Héctor Rafael Rodríguez, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Santiago. In his homily, Monsignor called for unity and service, urging the faithful to be living witnesses of the Gospel in their communities.
The ceremony was attended by the distinguished presence of the Provincial Governor, Rosa Santos, and Iris de Rodríguez, representing the Mayor’s Office of Santiago, who joined the community in this act of faith that reaffirms Christian values as the transversal axis of our Santiago identity.
